Trials -
Trials are held mobile, usual openings are Fridays at 10am, or within school holidays
If these times do not suit/please make me aware upon booking as I may not be able to offer afternoon or weekend alternatives
- trials require a two person minimum call out (adults)
- if you cannot provide a home/space within 1 hour travel/it's not possible Lauren may be able to offer her home (note not a salon/studio) for the bride only, she cannot except plus 1 or any children due to the size of her home.
Payments -
-A £50 NR deposit is taken upon booking, this deposit covers the details on your original form, should your booking be changed , especially large changed Lauren may not be able to keep up with, your booking may be lost
-Payments are made via bank transfer
-Trial payments are made within 24 hours of your trial
-Wedding day bill is paid 4 weeks in advance of your date with the deposit taken off
Cancellations or changes between 4 weeks and the big day will not be refunded
- surprise charges , such as people turning up with extensions or room changes will be invoiced after the wedding, this is to be paid within two weeks of styling date , unless you communicate the need of an extension (eg on honeymoon)
Keeping everyone safe
- Lauren reserves the right to halt, stop or finish works if she feels unsafe , this may be due to unclean, loud, unstable or rude environment to name a few
- should Lauren stop work due to unfair treatment or unsafe working environment she will not refund work not done, work can only be provided in a safe, clean and reasonable space
- Lauren will not work around live animals that could cause accident or damage to Heath or kit, smoking /vaping or extreme music or light (please I'm trying to concentrate on not burning you)
- although Lauren is very pro- breastfeeding, no hair can be styled with baby in arms, the risk of dropping a hot tools onto baby is low but not one I am willing to take due to insurance, only persons being styled should be in/around chairs , if feeding or holding breaks are needed please let me know/read *timings* section
- Lauren requires safe , close parking and occasionally help with kit to limit damage, a damaged kit cannot style so this is for everyone's benefit so I can carry out booking.
-Hair that has head lice or any infections or infestations will not be styled, if styling has started Lauren has the right to halt or stop styling without refund, Lauren is not a doctor however has spent 3 years in intensive education when it comes to scalp and skin issues that can be passed along, it is in her discretion to decide what feels safe for her own health and others to continue to work with.
- Lauren requires warning for any sickness, bugs or COVID , trials may be moved but understandably you can't help being sick on your wedding, however I need to put myself in a position I'm well enough for the next bride, pre warning will allow me to risk assess the situation (eg. Open windows or masks may be asked) if I turn up and your all sick I do reserve the right to demand a clean styling area and even in extreme cases refuse service (let's look after eachother!!)
-drugs/drinks/ other - listen , I'm trying to work, I've hot tools and if I believe your under the influence to a point it is effecting me feel safe at work I will stop work with no refund. This is to my discretion.
Timings / rundown
- brides are given a rundown at/around trial time , should brides choose to ignore/re write or give Lauren the wrong finish times , Lauren cannot take responsibility for people not being styled due to timing issues and will not refund work
- Lauren will provide a start time, if nobody is around to let her in/be styled/open door ext Lauren will call, knock, a wait for 20 mins, after this time Lauren has the right to consider leaving without refund, even 5 mins risks running behind and people not being styled/rushed ; so 20+ may be impossible, it is the bridal party's responsibility to make sure someone is up, ready and able to let me in to set out
- surprise styles/extensions or changes may be charged at £10 per person or refused, if I know when I'm making the rundown I can add time, but it does effect my styling to be surprised with extra work.
- I cannot style/be on time if I don't have a bum in my chair, refunds will not be given
- Lauren always checks the address via text in the days leading up to styling, it's important you respond with as much details as possible, such as parking and navigation to the location, giving the incorrect information may result in Lauren getting lost/late and knock on effects to styling, no refund will be given for poor or unhelpful location information, your advised to keep your phone on you or give a alternate number for Lauren to call in a emergency
Extra charges
These extras are charged as they take up a lot of time and are often surprised onto me, making me rush hair and run behind, to prevent this I am now charging for the time
- extension styling £10. pp
- changing rooms/or venues from £45+ (everything needs to cool, sometimes this takes as long as styling a bridesmaid and I'm loosing income * petrol not included)
- staying/waiting for a change in style/to put the veil in etc £15 for the first 45 mins £30 per hour after
- help with dress, if you'd like me to take time away from hair and schedule you in for dressing please add £35 as this is time away from full cost styling.
Parking tickets and charges - if a bride advises me a space is safe to park, any parking charges are chargeable to the bride, please be sure, nobody wants a ticket.
-assistance, these costs vary drastically depending on who is booked, please note they have their own t&c but I would expect deposits to be non refundable, changes to numbers may result in them being unable to come as it would effect the minimum call out cost (we all have one) and payment in advance as standard, miss treatment or 'messing around' of my assistants will require in loss of deposit and booking, they dont need to take a day out to help us, lets be kind!
Acts of god or government
-Should the weather or government advice be not to travel (eg extreme snow, lock-down) this is beyond Lauren's control and the bride/booker should contact their insurance provider , payment cannot be refunded, however if possible acts of kindness such as moving your deposit to a new date possible (once, please note after this or into a new year a new deposit is required)
- Human error/car malfunction or being human ; Lauren is reliable and this business means a lot to her, it takes a lot for me not to turn up or be late, if a genuine accident, emergency or something beyond my control happens, I will do my best to give as much notice as possible, find cover or organise help. (Basically I'll do what I can!)
Should the issue be so larger (Lauren is hospitalised and cannot make contact) her husband has been instructed to check diary and contact brides, in this rare case brides may need to sort their own cover (don't trust my husband lol) and payments will be returned once Lauren is able and well enough, I have no estimate for this as it's not happened before but since I'd have to go through my insurance I would guess at 3-6 months for a refund, however this is a guess!
Legal stuff
- Lauren is insured, qualified hairstylist that makes a point to keep her car insured, MOT and pays for green flag/breakdown services - I put everything I can in place to make sure things go smoothly and if they don't we have back up
- although I realise venues will also want this information please note I don't have time to spend hours making risk assessments (no legal reason for me to make one, this is your venue being a pain!) or insure myself to their desired limits (I insure myself to what makes sense for my business, some places require a million pounds, it doesn't make sense for me and my hair curlers!)
- I cannot spend hours of my time (unpaid) dealing with this, should your venue require all these bits of information and mine aren't 'okay' or up to their standards, you may be forced to cancel or find a new getting ready space.
- damage of Lauren's kit or car will not be tolerated , no refund will be given and work will stop, this also covers people 'borrowing' any kit, tools or product, please do not touch my kit unless asked .

- in the past i have tried to give out contacts to sign and they take far to much admin time, i was having to raise my costs!
To keep costs down, please note by payment of a non-refundable deposit to Lauren/Plaits and Pin Curls you are agreeing to ALL t&c above including , on time and full payment, fair and reasonable treatment
this includes replying to texts/calls and emails, keeping me up to date of any changes and helping to create and maintain a safe working environment.
